Experience: I fell 6,000 feet and survived
I’m confused by this guy’s stupidity… and also his rig… As someone who’s completed a few static-line jumps and sat through dozens of instructional courses for the simple reason that my dad used to teach them on days when he had custody of us… and having witnessed my dad, a class-D jumpmaster, jump hundreds of times, I think it’s safe to say that I possess a greater knowledge of skydiving procedures than the average person, yet I have NEVER heard of a rig, even pro-rated, that did not have a built in mechanism to automatically deploy the emergency reserve if the primary chute was not manually opened before the jumper decreased to an altitude of 1,000 feet… There is no mention of a chute malfunction in this article, only human error… In that case, am I correct to assume he intentionally altered his chute to instigate the malfunction of the automatic reserve deployment… and if so, that kind of audacity is beyond moronic!

Couple busted for refusing to pay tip
While I 100% empathize with this couple, it is common knowledge that gratuity is factored into bills for parties of 6 or more. They should’ve expected it. On that note, I do believe servers need to earn their tips, so the management should’ve been willing to give in on this one if they truly felt they did not receive adequate service. I understand the manager said they were busy. That can account for the food taking a long time, but not returning to refill drinks or stocking silverware is bad service, plain and simple…

Why Zoo Interchange project slowed to crawl
As much as I hate road construction and hated driving through the M-Change construction several times a week for grad school, seeing the amazing final result made the hassle well worth it… Seeing how bad and unsafe the Zoo Change is, and personally not feeling safe when I drive past sign after sign warning against heavy loads, this is one project that I would actually be in favor of funding through a tax hike, if it really had to come to that… That alone should tell you how badly this improvement is needed, because I hate taxes and bureaucracy, but this CANNOT wait until 2016, not to mention it wouldn’t even be completed until 2020! Something will collapse before then, I guarantee it!

First of all, I don’t understand how that woman can blame her daughter’s collapsed lung on the forced evacuation of their home near the plant…
Secondly, while I admire Popp for his service to our country, that is no reason to let him off so easily… sentenced to only 90 days of the possible 10 year sentence… especially for the monetary losses to those involved! It was a military flare that they shot off. I’m pretty sure he shouldn’t have kept it in the first place, but at the very least, someone who served in the military should know better than to shoot it off, let alone let someone else do it!
However, I do commend the judge for being creative in making him serve his sentence in 30 day increments for the next three July’s… I just think it should’ve been for much longer than three years!

I really enjoyed the Body Worlds exhibit when it came to Milwaukee, and I understand that sex is a necessary part of the continuation of life… but not death. I realize the people are dead, their souls have moved on, and it is only their shell that is on display. Still, the idea of being posed having sex with some other random dead person after I’ve left this earth is quite unsettling. I am SO being cremated when I die!

After all the dental and orthodontic torture I’ve gone through, words cannot describe how livid I’d be if some idiot pulled out all my top teeth on accident!
