I don’t really understand how these Koalas became infected with Chlamydia in the first place… The article compares it to cold sores in humans, which can stay latent and flare up in times of stress, but with cold sores, warts, chicken pox, herpes, mono… can’t you not have a flare up unless you’ve been infected? Then, once you’ve been infected you will always have it, even if it’s not always causing a direct problem at the moment? How did the koalas get STDs?!
